Lesson 03 · Judge investor fit Qualification checks How to get there
Qualifying Investors
Qualification helps a founder spend time on investors who match the company and the current round. Use Fit Scores as a starting point, then review the evidence behind the investor.
What to review before outreach
- Sector and similar investmentsCheck whether the investor has backed related companies or has a relevant thesis.
- Stage, round, and geographyConfirm the investor regularly invests at the founder’s stage and location.
- Investment activityLook at recent investment velocity to understand whether the fund appears active.
- Valuation and cheque fitCompare the founder’s raise with the investor’s likely entry range and fund strategy.
Open the evidence behind the fit
- Open Investor SearchSelect an investor card to enter the full Investor Profile.
- Review similar investmentsWithin the profile, go to Intelligence → Investments → Similar Investments to see relevant prior deals and sector familiarity.
- Check the round fitReview stage focus, geography, recent activity, cheque size, valuation ranges, and whether the investor usually leads or follows.
- Use the result to prioritizeKeep the investor high in the pipeline only when the Fit Score and the supporting evidence both make sense.
A strong Fit Score helps prioritize the list; the investor profile explains the reason behind that priority.
